Mar

Updated info 1/5/24: We couldn’t find an adopter in Argentina for Mar and transport wasn’t available for the 4 kittens to NL so Mar will stay with us in Uruguay.

Updated info 26/4/24: despite our efforts and having done all the export paperwork to export Mar to Buenos Aires so she can fly later in to The Netherlands Air Europa told us the cats can’t travel in the Hold. Our layover in Madrid is less than 3 hours long and the personal doesn’t have the time to check the cat’s paperwork in less than the above mentioned period of time. The only way we can bring the kittens is in the cabin and the max number of pets in the same carrier per person is 3 and their weight combined shouldn’t be above the 10 kilos. Because only Nic will travel we can’t bring more than 3 and because Mar is one of “Big” ones (even though they are all young small kittens) 3 cats including her won’t fit comfortably inside the carrier. So after careful consideration we made up our minds and decided she would stay here with us either until we fly again later on this year or she can travel now to be adopted in Argentina as her export papers are up to date. So for now she won’t be traveling to NL.

On December 20th 2023 we found a bucket with newborn babies in a trash dumping site. Inside there were 7 babies. 2 were older (see Nala and Simba’s post) and the other 5 have just opened their eyes and were starved and cold to the touch. We rushed to the clinic to discover they were cover in tick larva and fleas, unfortunately we don’t know for how long they were outside in the cold and 1 was helped to cross the rainbow bridge as he was having a neurological seizure due to lack of food intake. The rest of the babies were a touch and go. After removing all blood sucking parasites and started bottle feeding we made it home and I started a bottle schedule every 2 hours. Happy to say all 4 remaining siblings survived and now they are available for adoption. These kittens are wonderful and they’ve been through a lot so we are looking for responsible and committed loving adopters for them. We gave them all the love and best care so they will make amazing additions to just any family or person who’s looking for a sweet companion.

About Mar: This stunning longhaired girl is playful and calm at the same time. Not a lap cat but you can count on her laying next to you while you watch Tv or do some home office work. She’s also very sweet and gentle, she will lick your fingers and give little bites without ever using any strength because she’s just a very soft kitten.

Mar is super food motivated so if you want to get to her heart the answer’s in the Churu’s 😄🩵

Adopters must have another cat or friendly dog in the house if they are only looking to adopt one. Otherwise they should be adopted with one of their siblings.

If there’s an outdoor space in the house the top of the fence in the garden must be secured for the cat not to jump outside to the streets. And if there are balconies there should be safety nets.

Our return to the Netherlands is MAY 3rd and the kittens can be picked up from our home in Heemstede.

For questions please don’t hesitate to contact us by sending us an adoption form and we’ll get back to you asap. You can find this in the “get involved” section of our site.
