Simba & Nala

Simba and Nala are our first rescues since we moved to Punta del Este (Uruguay). We were driving and took a wrong turn in a desolated area and found ourselves in a trash dumping site. While trying to find our way back to the main road we spot a fruit wooden box and a little orange furry head sticking out of it. When we approach we see 2 orange kittens of not more than 2 month of age and 5 tini tiny babies of arpund 2 weeks. One of the orange babies goes out of the box before we could grab him and takes off. In the box the new born kitten were fading away. One was struggling severely to survive so we knew we had to get to the clinic as fast as possible. This being said I didn’t want to leave the orange kitten behind but he was nowhere to be found. After seaching for a little bit with out any clue were he went we rushed to the vet and as we expected…one of the babies was suffering and the most humane thing to do was to sedate him and let him go in peace.

The other babies were covered from top to bottom in lava ticks and fleas (and as I type this I still get itchy just from remembering this). The little ones were starved and cold to the touch and the orange we got with us was skin and bones. After a bath of anti flea and ticks, 3 cans of wet power food and a few bottles of warm kitten milk we were ready to go home. However every second at the clinic I couldnt stop thinking about the orange we left behind. Everyone kept telling me “you should think about all the ones you are saving here and not the one that wasn’t meant to be” but in my mind leaving one behind was like not saving any at all…so I went back to the dumpster.

When I got there an hour and a half after I last saw the kitten I kept my eyes sharp and prayed “please god just let me have this win” and I started talking to the kitten, I kept telling him that if he would just let me see him I would give him the best home, an amazing life, unlimited delicious food and all the love a kitten could ever ask for….when suddenly the kitten meowed back to me. To say that I felt I could touch the sky with my hands would be an understatement. I was so excited and so happy to see his beautiful face that I kept talking to him without pressuring and trying to go after him until he came close enough to me purring. Then I hugged him back to safety and promised I wouldn’t let go.

So as you can see this babies are very special to me and this is the reason why I’m willing to make the effort to bring them to The Netherlands to be adopted out at my cost (travels and export papers are free or charge for the adopter). My wish would obviously be that they would go to a home together because they love each other so much and they lived through big hardships together that it would be incredible that they can stay together forever.

Personality wise they are incredible. The hold no grudges to humans. As horrible as people were to them in the past these babies are sweet and cuddly and have no fears or shyness.

Simba is a momma’s boy, sweet and purry. Nala is the playful monkey (also purry and super sweet). Their personalities complement each others and they are the perfect duo.

Requirements!!! because I’m not willing to travel the world to put them in any sort of danger:

WINDOW PROTECTION OR GARDEN/BALCONY PROTECTION: If there’s a balcony it needs to have a net. if you have a garden and the cats can go out it has to have a wire top in the fence so the cats can’t jump out of the garden and if you live in an apartment without balcony your windows need to have a proper lock the cats can’t open. PLease don’t swear the cats will be safe without these things because I’ve seen cats open latches fall off windows and die, I’ve seen cats falling down buildings without nets and with nets that had holes in them and I’ve seen cats jumping outside the garden and never return. SAFETY COMES FIRST and cats as any other pet are a 15 year old commitment.

If you want to adopt them or one of them please let us know by filling the adoption form so we can contact you.

Wishing you all a wonderful 2024!!!
